Anne K. Black's "Dawn of the Dragonslayer" Trailer

Dawn of the Dragonslayer, which is going to be released on DVD in the U.K. on October 24th, is having a Los Angeles screening at El Cid restaurant on September 25th, 2011.

The synopsis:

Will and his father live a simple and pastoral life in the mountains, unconcerned with the goings-on of the neighboring lowlands. When Will’s father is killed by a dragon, Will must journey down the mountain and use a mysterious family connection from years earlier to start squiring for Sterling, a once-wealthy land owner and knight. Unwelcomed for his backward, mountain ways, Will is put to work on the struggling farm. He soon befriends Sterling’s headstrong daughter Kate, and the two of them begin working together to uncover the secrets of their families’ connection and to prepare Will for his final battle with the dragon, in which he will

The film is directed by Anne K. Black and was produced through Arrowstrom Entertainment and shot in the U.K. The company also has a second fantasy film, The Virgin and the Warrior, also directed by Black, which will be out on DVD soon after.

I LOVE hardcore high fantasy films like this – which looks like a SyFy Channel update of the 1981 classic "Dragonslayer." I've got a screener and I'm ready to enjoy. Will report back.
